#GivingTuesday – November 28, 2023
Happy Holidays! It’s Giving Tuesday, and we are continuing our tradition of making charitable donations to two local organizations that we believe make an impact in our communities.
This year, Ward Family Law Group is proud to support…….
In 1983, North Carolina State Professor Doctor Ed Funkhouser and Raleigh businessman Ben Eason founded the North Carolina Reading Service (NCRS). Its mission is to connect those who are vision and print impaired with news and information and replace isolation with connections. They have daily live broadcasts of various newspapers and news magazines and host quality programs discussing topics such as education, technology, and legal matters. NCRS is available 24/7 through a variety of platforms including web streaming, Alexa, Tune-in Radio, podcasts, and Community Access Channels. Learn more about what NCRS does by visiting their website: https://www.ncreadingservice.org/
North Raleigh Ministries (NRM) is a non-profit that provides financial literacy and food assistance to those in our community. Established in 2004, their mission is “to equip families and individuals in crisis with the resources and skills they need to achieve stability”. Through the Crisis and Development Center, NRM operates a food pantry and provides families in economic distress with financial education through their Journey and Transition Programs. Families enrolled in either program also qualify for the Healthy Kids program which provides meals for school-aged children. The Crisis and Development Center is primarily funded through two thrift stores in Raleigh. A member of our staff has close ties to this organization. Her father has volunteered at NRM for over ten years and has witnessed the impact this group has on the community. Now her teenage son is continuing the good work by volunteering at the thrift store. All our best to you and your families!
